What do you think of those kids who are obsessed with todays hip hop music. They are almost ready to die for their favourite tunes but they don’t show any respect for funk, soul and RnB music. Many of them think that JB sung only I Got you but they have no clue about ”Funky Drummer” beat. Hip hop musicians use and respect so much of funk music while many fans can’t even distinguish funk from rock. They think that playing accoustic isntruments are old fashioned thought so many loops ARE recordings of accoustic instruments. I’ve heard some fans saying in web ”Let’s clean all R’n’B and funk out of hiphop”. But hip hop orginated from those music styles! I don’t say that all hiphop fans are arrogant for roots of their music but there are many! Thought it’s problem for other styles too! What do you think?
Oh and with soul, or R’n’B I think all also old school music. I think of Areth Franklin, Marvin Gaye etc not just new cats
Oh maybe I sound too harsh but I just want to find why some think why it’s oldfashioned – doesn’t people want to look back and see from where their music came- what’s the roots?
