cause i remember way back when, rap music was what Informer, by snow… or Let´s talk about Sex by Salt n Peppa… now what i considered hip hop is called rap, but hip hop is still out there and sounding very similar. So which is which? And what category do the abovementioned songs fall into?

“Rap” of today is just that, people “rapping” aka talking to music. Hip Hop may have a few verses of “Rap” in the song, but will have more singing. What comes to mind, DMX is a Rapper – he tells you his story with his spoken words. Usher, may attempt to talk on some of his songs – however he is mostly a singer. There is so much cross over that most people think they are the same, when in fact there is still a difference.
