I go to thrift stores and take exposed film out of the cameras. Lately, I’ve been finding a lot of APS/Advantix cameras with film loaded and dead batteries. I’ve never dealt with this film at all.

There looks to be a drive socket on the bottom, but when I turn it, it doesn’t seem to pull the film in. Is there a way to manually rewind the film while it’s in the camera, or is my best bet just to carry some batteries?
