    Japanese calligraphy tattoos.
I want to get a kanji tattoo (I don’t need convincing otherwise, I know I want the tattoo) and I need to make sure I do it correctly. I wouldn’t want someone who can read kanji easily to laugh at it. I want it to be read as “effort” and mean trying hard and trying your hardest at everything. I know the general idea for the symbols that translate to “effort,” but I didn’t want to take an image off the internet and get it inked on my body. Does anyone have any tips for ensuring I get it written correctly? Also, I would like to get it written vertically, but not sure if that would mess up the meaning or not.
    Thanks!
