I need some help, I’m looking for an artist who can design me a tattoo around one of my existing tattoos, I have a large tribal I want turning into a half sleeve but every designer I’ve asked so far said there is no way to extend it due to its design. So I’ve come on here for a bit of help, I want a half sleeve based around my current design. You can design it how you feel would work the best as i am open to ideas.
This is the best picture I have

I’m great full for any help, everywhere I’ve asked is a dead end
I usually charge around £100 a hour to design people’s tattoo’s for them.
If not GO TO A TATTOO ARTIST AND ASK THEM TO DO IT! IT’S THERE JOB!!!!

Keep trying, there’s got to be some tattoo artist out there willing to try. It won’t be cheap though. Why do you want more tribal? I would be looking for a way to remove what I have.
If you can’t find anybody, I have a few ideas, but I charge in US dollars @ $150.00 per hour.
Maybe it’s still under warranty?

Is it really that bad of a design to suggest removal? I know the artist was an armature because of the way he went about doing it compared to the other studios I’ve been to.
It’s not so much of wanting tribal I want a Half sleeve but the only thing I could think of that goes with tribal is tribal lol
There are quite a few artists that wont even do tribal anymore.
If your ultimate goal is a “sleeve” on the tribal arm then your best bet is laser. Tribal needs to be forgotten.
If you like the piece then just leave it.

It’s not that I don’t like it it’s just has a lot of memory’s and story’s behind it, my parents bought it for me before something happened, I want to keep it as much as possible. I’ve had an idea, would an artist be able to put say a dragon behind it? And have a dragon sleeve but with the tribal on top

Then get your new tattoo on another body part. Now that was easy wasn’t it?

You can’t put lighter colors over darker colors. it just won’t work

I ment behind the tribal so that the tribal sits on top

Theoretically you could treat the tribal as prison bars, and put whatever you like behind them. I don’t see how that could look good with the tribal being so small. If you’re going for a sleeve, it would only cover parts of the dragon, with the rest coming out from around the edges. It would always look like the afterthought it is.
If you’re keen to keep the tribal (on your head be it 😉 ) and adding something around it, perhaps you might have to somehow frame the tribal and then just do something completely different around it. The existing piece is designed to be closed, and that makes for a real difficult time to open it up again. Any way you cut this, whatever you decide to do may always become a right mess.
