Does anyone have any knowledge of the correct lettering for the below.

I’m having a new tattoo and part of the tattoo includes a verse from the book of Psalms from the Bible.

    Should the lettering read:

    “PSALMS 121:7”

    or

    “PSALM 121:7”

    any opinions welcome.

    Thanks

    Hi

Well both are correct it is a language techinicality the hebrew is Tehilim‎, which means praises collectively.

Psalm in english means to praise.

    Psalms is praises (plural)

If you are having one psalm done which does not extend into another I would say use Psalm (singular).

If the psalm is part of a collective eg end of one and start of the next it is Psalms.

An example of this is Psalms 9 and 10 in the Hebrew are combined into Psalm 9 in the Greek and Psalm 147 in the Hebrew is divided into Psalms 146 and 147 in the Greek.

I would think you are using the Greek version (king James NIV et al)

The LORD will keep you from all harm—
He will watch over your life

    Yes I would use Psalm.
