    Hi All!

I joined a week or so ago to read up on aftercare advice etc for my first tattoo…

Well, I’ve had it done (a week now) and am in the “paranoid healing stage”

I obsessively stare at the tattoo and convince myself that the ink hasn’t taken, it’s healing badly or that I’m scarred.

I’ve seen some amazing art on this forum, and makes my butterflies on my wrist pale into nothingness!!!

    welcome to the forum ๐Ÿ™‚

if you can post a pic of your tattoo we will be able to tell you about how its healing .
try not to worry yourself too much most tattoos go a bit dull while its healing !
Plus you can get it touched up even if it has not taken to well.

    I know!

It’s almost as if they want us to … work? Instead of socialise!
    How very rude!

I love your wings btw ๐Ÿ™‚

    My tattoo is very small.
    – about an inch sq on my right wrist.

Since i started this thread – more scab is peeling off!!! It looks as though the white possibly hasn’t taken to my skin ….

    Hi

White always looks really pale when healing it darkens up when healed.
Otherwise from the size of the tattoo a touchup is a coupl mins job so no big deal.
Looking forward to sharing your ink.

    Take Care
    Matthew

    Ahhh – I didn’t know that!

I hope it does darken up a bit because you can’t even see the white now! Just looks pink and blue!
I designed 2 butterflies, one in a pearl colour to symbolise my grandad (pearl is his birthstone) and one is amethyst to symbolise my nan (her birthstone)
My nan passed away last month and it was the plunge I needed!

I’m the mad cat lady (according to my friends – we have 12 of them!) and I have a lil design I did a few years ago that I adore … That’ll be the next one! Once I’ve finished the Cambridge diet and lost 3 stone! lol

I’ve added two pics to my photo album, one on the left is how it looks at the moment. One on right is about an hour after getting it done.

    hi ya ,

was just wondering if you had added a picture yet .
i checked your album out and your tattoo is very sweet !!
i think the problem is white doesn’t hold well in everyone and you are quite pale also so i see what you mean by it looking like the white didnt take well.
white shows up well on me because im a fairly dark olive skin but its not forced to last long

to get the pearl effect that you wish for you could get a very pale pink to highlight areas or more pale blue.
apart from the lack of white ink standing out in your tattoo it looks nicely done and i dont think you have anything to stress yourself about ๐Ÿ™‚
