So I want to get my first sleeve. I have a few tattoos scattered around my body but nothing really like this.
I don’t really have any experience with this kinda stuff and just want some advice.. I have this tattoo on my right inner forearm currently;

and I wanna get a sleeve built around it really with some specific elements put into it (specific images etc), but i’m not sure how to link them all. would this be something to talk to my tattoo artist about, or should I go in with more of an idea or what I want specifically?

I just want this to go round the rest of my forearm, with a full coloured buddha on my bicep. Would this work? I mean, a coloured tattoo surrounded by black and white?

Cheers.

Your best bet would be to talk with your artist. He would know better than any of us what he could do/what would work, and what wouldn’t.

Yeah I guess. I just would like to go in with a bit more of an idea

i always like to have a pretty good idea of what i would like, and take reference materials so the artist knows what you’re going for and you’re not disappointed but at the same time, just be open to their suggestions and be prepared for them to want to make changes and add or remove parts that you have suggested. i think that you can get away with some colour in a primarily black and grey piece if done right, though i would do highlights of colour throughout the whole tattoo rather than just one piece so that it flows better, that said, simple black and grey shading can be very powerful when done well 🙂
