Okay so I really want to get a tattoo and some advice from more experienced people would help me out so much.
question #1 for me would be how complete of a picture do you have to have in your mind already when you walk into a tattoo parlor?
While I am not artistically talented myself, I have a great appreciation for art and I would really like to get something relatively detailed. Ever since I was in 4th grade and I had to do a project on Isis I’ve had somewhat of an infatuation with Egyptian mythology and have always found the eye of horus appealing. But, being very new to the world of tattoos I am SO lost and have no idea where to even begin.
I’m not sure where I would want this tattoo, I’ve seen a lot of horus tattoos on people’s wrists but I don’t really know if I like that location too much. I’m also afraid that being only 18, if I decide to get it somewhere on my back or something it won’t blend well with anything I want in the future.
I’m so lost and confused, and having no artistic creativity of my own is not helping me at all. Does anyone have any advice? I sort of want some form of hieroglyphics to be incorporated with the eye somehow.
My friend has a tattoo on the side of her ribcage about 6inches – a foot under her arm pit, I thought this might be a good location but once again I don’t know how I feel about how it will blend in the future.
ANY advice would be appreciated a lot! I’m a TOTAL noob to the whole world of tattoos.
Thanks a lot and apologies if this is not the right place to be asking these questions!
Hi,
the eye of horus makes a really cool tattoo , and if it was me getting it i wounded really bother about if it matches any tattoos you want in the future . (if that is what you mean by blend ? )
most people have tattoo’s of all different things and do not worry about it .

yes, that’s what I meant by blending ๐
thanks! I’m a huge worrier/perfectionist so I worry about that kind of thing ๐
I also like a lot of things that are Thai and Japanese so if I ever wanted a tattoo that was either Thai or Japanese I worry that the art style might clash.
i know what you mean ๐
because i love butterflies so much but wanted a dragon tattoo i got my artist to work some into my piece
but i do have tattoos that dont match , i have mainly japanese kanji down my back, my wings go with the theme and my dragon does to but my arabic wrist tattoo is odd but it honestly does not bother me .
I was thinking about having my son’s name translated into japanese to all my tattoos matched but in the end i decided that his name is arabic so it should be tattooed in arabic ๐
no ones ever noticed its odd out and ever commented , just have your other tattoos in a different place
Hi
There are hundreds of images of the eye of horus on google as well as other tattoo examples just pick a few you like and print them.
Take them to the artist and they can draw you something up.
With regards to clashing of styles the way to look at is that the body is the same as an art gallery.
You can have whole rooms dedicated to one style of art (eg a full sleeve backpice etc) or you can have a series of pictures from around the world side by side (eg several different types of tattoos).
It is a personal taste and we get tattooed because we like the art it is a bonus if others do as well but no loss if they don’t.
Ribs are a painful first place but if fairly small you would cope no probs.
If you click on my sig there is a fre ebook that may answer a lot of the basic questions of a first tattoo.
Take Care
