I’m sorry if someone has asked this question already somewhere but I got my first tattoo yesterday. I have been following all the instructions the artist gave me about caring for it. However, being completely new to tattoos I have a question. I wore a cotton shirt to bed last night and this morning it has stains from the tattoo on the inside. So is this just the plasma that is supposed to leak or am I doing something wrong?
hi , you havent done anything wrong.
this happened to me last week and im used to getting tattooed. in the end i had to clean it up, put an ice pack on it and then loosely wrap it up for the night . by the next day the plasma had stopped leaking out and it started to scab up .

Plasma and ink leak is normal for the first 12-24 hours if it continues after 48 hrs you need to seek medical attention.
Wash the effected area with non scented soap and pat dry.
Grab some ice and wrap in a plastic bag or thin cloth or use some frozen peas and lay on the area for around 15 mins or longer if you can stand it no more than 20 mins.
This cause the blood vessels to constrict and reduce the leakeage.
Wash again and pat dry again and apply a non-stick sterile dressing and you should be good to go.
