It appears that it has “melted” into the surrounding area(in other worsts there is a slight pink aura around it). I thought at first this was just bruising until i noticed its only around the red parts. how concerned should i be? It appears fine in all other respects

Red ink can play havoc with some ppl and I would wait for the tattoo to finish healing.
I suspect however you have had a blow out on the ink and might need to get it shaded again as the pigment has seeped into the skin at the edges.
This can be corrected by some gray shade if you do not want the red to be bolder.
