    Here is my problem fellas.

Decided to start a half-sleeve starting
With a large Maltese Cross as the
    Center piece.

I backed into a steam line causing
Second degree burn right on top
Of a 3 day old tattoo,

Pulled about 12 the ink out of the border and was wondering how soon
Can I get fresh ink put back in….

    Hi

Second degree burn = lifting all uper dermis and some of lower dermis about 3-4 layers of skin has gone there 🙁

Sorry to hear that happening and sounds damn painful.

You are going to have to wait at least 8-12 weeks for that to heal enough to even consider getting more ink put in.
The problem you have is that the skin that was burned away will form a scar tissue which is very tight and fragile on the surface. This is no good for holding pigment in whilst still pink and shiny.

You have to wait for the skin to fully recover and grow back before trying ink – if in doubt speak to a medical expert but you want plenty of time for that to heal up.

    Take Care

I’m just going to continue on with the half sleeve
and finish up with the recolor, should be healed
    completely by then.
Looks like the tattoo can be salvaged

Thanks for the reply,as soon as I figure out how to post a pic
I’ll show you what a good burn looks like on a tattoo……

(makes a fresh tat look like it’s 20 years old)

    Anyway……….Peace Out! Fellas:)

Sorry to hear about your accident – I fell and skinned an elbow 4 days after getting it done – big bloody scab there but luckily it healed alright

As Mathew said above – I would give it a good 2-3 months before coming back to that spot again for work

    heal well!
