Im getting my first tattoo, A cross on my back.
Unsure where to put it in the middle of my upper back or on one of the sides.
where do you think it would look best at?
Hi
It depends on the size style and whether you want to add to it.
For example if you are going for a major size cross I would centre it that way you can build a further tattoo that flows around it.
If it is smaller I would suggest chest legs or upper arms – tattooing is addcitive and you don’t want to spoil such a large potential canvas (your back) with a small tattoo. 😉

Agreed. Your back is one of best places for a really large and awesome piece to go. If you put a smaller cross on your back down, you might feel the urge to get it covered up with something bigger down the road. But if you are sure about putting on the back, i would say put on the upper middle part of your back, with the top of the cross just below your collar line. A big cross in the middle of your back can look pretty striking.
I agree, a cross belongs on the arm or calf, not on the back. It would look lost on such a large area. Save something magnificant for your back.
Well ive decided i want it in the center of my upper back because down the road i will probably want to add on to it and it wont be small but it also wont take up my whole back
Hi RK
I keep a ink of religious tattoos as inspiration check it out they have some great crosses and crucifixes that might inspire your design.
