Hello all, signed up to this forum in order to ask you all a question about my tattoo that is really worrying me:
I had a session on the 31st January to start off my tribal sleeve and apart from the normal tattoo healing pain everything was ok until on Satuday (7th February) when I noticed that it was infected so I immediately went to the doctors and was prescribed antibiotics.
I have been taking these since saturday and am worried because it still doesn’t look any better, a pic of the infection below and of the entire tattoo.
So can anybody put my mind at rest by telling me how long the infection will take to clear up or if I should go back to the doctors?

The antibiotics should kick in fairly quickly and you should see some improvement after 5-7 days.
If you continue to have any of the following go straight back to the Dr;
Yellowing, brown or very discoloured scabbing (not the normal flaking but as it is in pic)
Any coloured or clear discharge that is leaking from the tattooed area.
Any redness or soreness or raised bumps that do not go down or really hurt when pressed.
Keep it clean and keep up with the tablets and it should be ok. Don’t rub or pick it either and if you do touch it wash your hands before and after to avoid cross contamination.
Try not to worry I have seen worse but need to keep an eye on it.
