    Hi guys,

8 months ago I gave myself a tattoo (really really really stupid and I regret it)

I didn’t have any reaction to the questionable tools I used, no irritation, no infection, nothing.

8 months after, and I woke up this morning and it hurts. Not a sharp pain but a weird uncomfortable sensation when I walked (it’s on my calf)

I took an aleve and put some cream on it, and it went away.

I took a nap later in the day and I woke up with the pain again, only a little worse.

I’m freaking out, so I figured I’d ask a tattoo forum then see a doctor tomorrow.

Also, there is absolutely no irritation on the skin, it looks completely normal.

    thanks much guys

get to a doctor asap and get it checked.

Therte could be one of many reasons it has now started to hurt. you may have left a small metallic particle in your leg which has now rusted and given you tetanus. you may have a deep infection which has only just got to a bad enough stage to start hurting.

Hell you might have septicemia and because there was a trauma in the area the skin is more sensitive there.

    Get professional medical advice asap.

    Hi

As turbosatan said you need a Dr asap.

It could be tetanus or possibly a nerve related issue. Could be reaction to metal traces in the inks, or a fragment of foreign body (depending on what you used).

Hell might even be a pulled muscle and not even linked to your tat – main thing is you need to get it checked out.

Whilst you are at it if this was a self done one I would get some blood tests for Hep A & B and a HIV test just to put your mind at 100% rest.

    Good Luck

    Matthew
