    hey all, my first post here about my new tattoo that unfortunatly is giving me some thoughts.

    I made it 3 days ago and at the moment the area around the tattoo is very red (like a sunburn) it doesnt hurt or anything but i have no idea if its normal or not. also last night a couple of white pimples appeared around the tattoo, again doesnt hurt but got me thinking.

    I use Bepathen has ointment by the way(dont know if its important to know but i thought if someone asked about it, well it would already be here).

    Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You

    its pretty normal, its because a tattoo is like being cut open as the needle goes so hard that its your bodys normal reaction to a bit of trauma, so to speak.
    but if the redness stays for a week or so id go and see a doctor..

    Hi there,

    Sounds quite normal although Id be careful using Bepanthan. I used it on my eighth tattoo (should have known better!) and it made it go white and sore and cracked the skin open! I had to have it re outlined by another artist. Id stick to tattoo goo or intensive care moisturiser.
