I had my tattoo yesterday, so last night i had a shower, i kept the tattoo away from the water and only washed it with my fingers with a bit of soap, as i done it some ink came out, also ink came out when i was dabbing it dry, now i could be paranoid but this morning it looks like its faded a tiny bit and a little smugged in a few areas, is this normal?

i would say it is normal, the smudged areas are most likely where your skin is starting to heal itself. use savlon to keep it protected, do not scratch it when it starts to scab. after the scab comes off you will then get to see the tattoo in its true form.i had 8 hours of tattooing on my back went home had a shower, it is still perfect till this day. just keep out of the sea and the sun until it has healed.

Reputable tattooists give instructions on aftercare for a tatoo. Most recommend you do not subject the tatoo to water for at least 24 hours. Your tatoo may very well be fading and could be “smudged”.

You shouldn’t have washed it! And u used soap too! Just put a cicatrizing ointment on it twice a day for one week, that should avoid infections.

just put plenty of savlon on it mate, like quite thick dont rub it in till its all gone, let it soake, it might look faded cos when a scab forms it will do that, anyway if it is blury in places your tattooist should touch it up for free as its not finished,…. relax mate

ha ha sorry but this made me laugh a little, there will still be ink residue on your skin so don’t worry and the colour will fade a little when the scab drops off, don’t get paranoid when you see bits of scab in your bed, your body is not rejecting the tattoo its just healing

you should protect it with a moisturiser…
and the ink that has come off was only on the surface of your skin its nothing to worry about…
whatever you do don’t pick the scab if you do you will spoil it just keep it moisturised and let it fall of naturally…

You shouldn’t have washed it a all. Most tell you don’t wet it until after the scab falls off. Only put neosporin on it. and keep it covered with a bandage during the day and keep it open at night.

It certainly is. The “ink” you’re seeing coming out of the tattoo is actually blood and ink, and you may find that until it has healed you will get images of the tattoo on your bed sheets, clothes, etc… and all in glorious technicolour too, but once it has healed properly it will be absolutely fine.
You should go to the chemist, bite your tongue, and buy yourself a tube of haemorrhoid cream. Yep you heard me correctly, good old pile lotion, preferably “PREPARATION H”. Its by far the best ointment to ever have graced a tattoo!
Don’t worry, everything sounds perfectly normal, and once its healed and calmed down you’ll see its perfect.
