I just got a red and black nautical star tattoo on my right wrist, and for some reason it just doesnt look quite right. After I got it, I took a shower, and it started to peel in the shower and rub off the upper layer ink..it hurt for quite a couple days…and still has some mild pain a week later, but nothing unbearable. Now, it has some harder scabs and it almost looks wrinkly on the outside. Also, it looks as if some of the color has been faded…The hard scabs almost look like “gashes” and when I rub my finger over them, I can feel that they are indented. I have been using Dr.Bronners & Sun Dog’s Magic Tattoo Balm very often, and I am hoping that I am not over saturating it. But, now I have only been moisturizing it only 3 times a day, and I used a little tiny bit of triple antibiotic cream, just because I wanted to make sure the scabs heal. Is there anything that anybody recommends?? Any similar experience, or anything that I should be concerned about??? Thanks!

Don’t rub it, leave it and then see if it’s fucked up. If it is still painfull in a few days go and get some antibiotics. Leave it alone, tiny amounts of ointment, less is best although more isn’t worse than none.
Post a pick, no one can help from a description really.

    Peace and good luck!!

If you read up on tattoo inks, you’ll find that some people are allergic to them. Especially if you used red or yellow. Was it just in the red part of your tattoo? If so, then what you’re experiencing is an allergic reaction to whatever metal is present in the ink. Have you ever had a peircing where you can’t stick certain metals thru the hole? Or worse, worn expensive jewelry and your skin got really irritated? Then really, you should see a doctor immediately.
