I am going to get a Macbook and an iPod using Apple’s “free iPod” deal for students (where you get a $199 rebate). I was going to get a 30 gig iPod and pay the extra $50.

Now what I want to know is this…
1) Apple is supposedly revealing their new iPods on Sept. 5. If I get an iPod right now through that rebate deal, and then Apple releases their new iPods next week… will I be able to make a trade?
I ask because I read somewhere that if a new iPod is released within 2 weeks of buying one, you can trade in.

2) Or if I wait until the new ones are announced, and I decide I would like one of the new ones.. what are the chances of Apple including the new ones in their rebate deal?

3) Lastly, will releasing new iPods mean the prices of older models (specifically the 30gig) will go down (meaning I save $ if I wait)?

Basically I just want to know what is the best deal for me. How can I get the best deal for my money? Any help is appreciated, because I really don’t know how Apple works.
