There have been a few songs that really hit home for me…. “Naked” by Goo Goo Dolls.
“When You Were Young” by The Killers
“When I Come Around” by Green Day

So, which songs touch your soul, and why?

“Walk On” by U2 reminds me of when I was in paramedic class.

“Only Time” by Enya reminds me of 9/11.

“The Scientist” by Coldplay reminds me of a friend who passed away 4 years ago on the 4th of July – the first time I heard it I was driving in the funeral procession from the church to the cemetary.

“Far Away” by Nickelback reminds me of someone amazing who is way too far away.

    oh yes it does.

I’ve been playing music since i was 14, guitar mostly.

I love most kinds of music from blues to jazz to classic rock to big band era, swing, r&b and some classical thrown in.

so many songs have touched me in so many different ways for so many different reasons.

    It’s truely the universal language.

I like the songs that have lyrics that deal with feelings of disappointment or depression, songs that tell you how awful, down and bitter they are feeling. Split Personality — Pink, Losing My Ground — Fergie, Haunted — Kelly Clarkson, When It All Falls Apart — The Veronicas, Who Knew — Pink, Question Existing — Rihanna, Good Girl Gone Bad — Rihanna. I like different songs depending on the mood that Im in and because Ive felt depressed and overwhelmed lately then the songs that I listen to reflect that. I really like Kelly Clarksons ‘My December’, and Rihannas ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ and Evanescence’s ‘The Open Door’ because all three deal with those sad uncomfortable feelings. They can help me in the worst of times because I can play them loudly and scream out loud to them letting all my frustrations go. Sometimes Im angry at the world so the songs I pick are edgier, like Leave Me Alone — The Veronicas, or Shut Up And Drive, or Breakin Dishes both by Rihanna. Music helps me express how I feel and it really lets me feel what I am instead of pushing my feelings away. It is not often that you see me go through one day without listening to my mp3 player because certain songs can help keep me focused and balanced. Even if I cant yell, I know that the music can and I let it. It is nice to know that someone somewhere can understand how Im feeling so some songs I feel an instant connectionto because the lyrics sound like something Ive thouht before except this is more organized and catchy.
