the hieroglyphs are, from top to bottom, mother, father, brother, family and love.
the eye of horus on top symbolizes strength and provides protection.

it took 2 1/2 hours and it was done by Kevin Troxel for Thrash’s Living Art Studio in Rapid City, SD. he was super awesome and had a nice touch. i will definately being going back to him for future work. here is their webstie… http://www.thrashstattoo.com

i’m an anthropologist, so i’m always inspired by different cultures and styles. however, always being fascinated with ancient egyptian culture and after taking a course in college, i knew i wanted some kind of piece that involved this particular culture. i definately wanted it to be meaningful and my family is extremely important to me; i would be nowhere without them…..so i just put 2 and 2 together 🙂
