Dear tattooforum-users!
10 days ago I got my first tattoo!

All in all it healed very good, i washed it 2 times a day and greased it with a panthenol-ointment 4 or 5 times a day!

But 1 red star of my tattoo is cankerous and looks really ugly..

So i need your tips to stop this inflammation

Shall i stop greasing it with ointment – keeping it dry?
Or should I use Betaisodona (although it kind of ruins the color of the Tattoo) or any other ointment with iodine??

Please give me some tips to stop the inflammation..

Pictures of the tattoo:

thx beforehand, Chris

Hi

My advice is take some ibruprofen for the swelling and get yourself to a Dr for some anti-biotics as looks like it is infected.

You could be having an ink reaction but most likely a bacterial infection. Wash it and keep it clean.

Matthew

PS don’t be picking or rubbing at it or forcing the pus out if it needs cleaning out get a Dr. to do it and can always re-tattoo the area when healed.

Thx for your fast answer!

Does Ibuprofen damage the color of the tat?
Yeah I´m going to the doc tomorrow.. 🙁

A small dose/course will not damage your tattoo.

Also wash it with antibacterial soap. Using a nasty old bar of regular soap that’s been sitting in the shower for weeks isn’t gonna do any good for keeping bacteria off it. Also I personally stay away from any greasy oinments on my fresh tattoos. Hope the doctor can get you fixed up.
