<p>You should tell your friend to go see the local butcher and get some pig skins. They are cheap, and great for practice. 									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thanks Dave, I&#8217;ll certainly play with the contrast. I do a lot of work digitally to these images after I scan them in, turning them into t-shirt designs, and basic ideas for tattoos, then the artist usually adds on to the picture.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve only started to draw more seriously this year after a long hiatus, but will take your comments on board.</p>

Maybe a little darker in the shading, and the mane could be given a softer edge that blends into your skin. Don&#8217;t fret too much. At least the Lion isn&#8217;t cross-eyed. It could have been much worse.</p>

The burning city&#8230; barbed wire etc. I like the idea of the towers skyline with the Statue of Liberty, and maybe the NYFD logo. Could do that in black and grey with a flag as the skyline. We found a Japanese landscape painting she loved, and combined it with an engraved &#8216;rising sun&#8217; theme. She&#8217;s happy, and thinks it&#8217;s super-cool, so I convinced her it was my idea and ran with it. 🙂 I&#8217;ll post up the template we&#8217;re working from, and show you when it&#8217;s finished.</p>

<p>If you want to keep with the Japanese theme, have a look online at traditional Japanese paintings. The style and colours they use could easily match your more modern piece. Or, have a look at some Geisha to go on your forearm.</p>
