Just a quick update…

Went back to my artist today to have a re-touch as I had suffered some fade – especially around the elbow. We had a chat and we decided that in the future I will return (when funds allow) and have the whole piece shaded a bit like this;

In the mean time, she has put in more shading so looks a bit more “complete” than before.

Simplicity is indeed what I am going for. Detailed sleeves look superb, but that isn’t what I was aiming for and I certainly don’t want everything filled so that no skin is showing. I have never tipped, but that is mainly due to the fact that I am quoted for say 2 hours, pay, and then generally finish in half that so I leave the rest and don’t moan as my tip.

I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere, but I like the tattooist I have now so I happily pay the extra.

I think meaning is great if you can find an image that you think will look good and relates to what you want it to. It certainly isn’t a necessity IMO and there is nothing wrong with just geting something done just because you like it. My next one will be just that, something I like the look of.

Like it has been mentioned, it is really hard to comment from that pic. I personally don’t put stuff on as much as you as I have had fade out in the past related to excessive moisurising.

If you are really concerned, head back and ask your artist. Aftercare is a key thing to any decent studio.

Like it was mentioned, this could just be a normal level of fading, was the colour vivid once all the scabbing came of?

Your routine looks good to me. Maybe another touch up is just needed on that area of skin.

I’m one of those that believes the pain is all part of it. If it was as easy as puting some cream on, it would lose half it’s appeal for me. The “challenge” of getting through the pain just adds to the experience.

Like I said, the pictures aren’t great and they do look a little washed out but the last pic is a good representation of how they are.
