First of all, I’ll start off by telling you that my name is Greg, I’m 17, and I live in Canada.
    I’m new here.

Recently my grandfather passed away who I was close to, he was all around a great guy and probably one of my closest relatives. I know he had 3 tattoos..two of which were bearing the names of women, and one was on his forearm as a sword with a snake wrapped around it. It wasn’t one of those like, demonic looking snakes..if I could relate it to something I’d probably say to the heart and stroke foundation snake, aha.

But I’m really having a lot of trouble tracking down what it looks like. I never really got a close look at it, and I don’t know a thing about what it represents, which is becoming a problem because I want to get the same tattoo done on myself.

My mother said that it might have a wreath or something wrapped around it? But I dont’ really need to know about that, I basically just want to know if anybody has any idea what his sword and snake tattoo represents, and how I could go about finding what one it was that he had done.

    Thanks very much =]

Are there any family pictures hidden away in a shoe box in someone’s closet that might show his tattoo? That would be worth looking in to. Another thing you could try is doing a google image search for something like sword and snake tattoo, and looking through the images to see if anything rings a bell.

Also, are you sure it was a sword and not a staff? I just ask because I’ve seen a few Caduceus tattoos before…maybe the wreath you are remembering was the wings? Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caduceus

Oh, and HERE is a Caduceus tattoo design with a sword instead of a staff, and only one snake…and the wings do kind of look like a wreath. Could it have been something like this?

Good luck in your search, and my condolences on the loss of your grandfather.
