After the first week you can switch to Lubiderm, or another unscented skin lotion. But dual or triple antibiotic ointments are trouble. As well as petroleum products. Don&#8217;t use vasaline on a fresh tattoo (as well as A&amp;D) or it can make the pigment come out. It tends to draw the pigment out&#8230; not good. A&amp;D is okay. No Vaseline or any petroleum based product. Regular hand lotion will work in a pinch, and be sure not to let it get too much sun.
