Thanks for the input. I wouldn’t be too surprised or upset if it did have to be simplified – I would rather simplify it a bit than end up with an ugly mess, although I want to keep it as close to the original design as I can. I’m not a small person so I do have a bit more skin canvas to work with, but I still don’t want anything too big.

Yeah I’ll definitely track down a good tattooist and consult them first! Your suggestion of having it so the tail goes up the neck sounds really good but I’m going to be a teacher and even nowadays you are frowned upon for having visible tattoos. Thanks for the replies! I haven’t totally made up my mind yet whether I will get it or where on my body, but I have decided that I won’t get any tattoos until I have lost enough weight that I will be happy to show myself in a bikini, and I am way way off of that at the moment so it’ll be a long time yet!
