Forum usage

In order for the discussion forum to work we have to save certain data about you. This includes but is not limited to your name, age, date of birth, gender, location and other identifying factors.

The only details required for the forum to work are a nickname / username and an email address.

All other data you choose to provide will be stored on the forum servers for as long as you require us to keep it for the purposes of completing your profile or for your own marketing benefit.

When you make a new topic, reply, comment or gallery  on the forum your username is associated with this info. This information may be kept on the forum indefinitely. Due to the nature of discussion forums the flow of topics and replies means removal of individual info may cause issues for others who are reading the topics.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service run by WordPress.com

To Prevent Signup spam we filter IP addresses through several online services. Your IP address and potentially your email address is sent to these services to confirm if you are a suspected spammer during the signup process.

How we protect your data

Any data we hold about you is kept on either a secured SSL protected website which is also monitored for intrusions using both the Wordfence firewall and the Sucuri security plugins. Access to any personal data used in sales or marketing activities is accessible only by the person or people actively engaged in that activity.

Access to certain user profiles for the purposes of moderation may be available to forum moderators. these accounts are audited every few months to ensure access is only available to people who require it.

We only engage third parties who comply with strict security practices.

What data breach procedures we have in place

On discovery of any data breach we will report the breach within 72 hrs to the data protection authorities and provide information to any users shortly after that.

We have website firewall and intrusion software in place to protect both the data on our websites and any external services we use.

We monitor data breach information to check if we have been affected by any breaches and change passwords regularly.

We do not currently receive any third party data outside of our business.

User data may be used in profiling through website usage via IP address and / or cookies.
