    Default My tattoo is cracking?

I got it Wednesday on my ankle, and now it's got a crack in it and underneath the crack is just white skin, not much pigment. Is that really supposed to happen?

It's cracking in the spot where I bend my ankle and the creases are.

it peels, its normal. sometimes they tell you to put lotion on it repeatedly til it heals to avoid that...

Use A & D ointment or Ink Fixx. Polysporin works, but do not use anything with antibacterial properties (like Neosporin) as it will mess up the ink. Lotion is not the best idea, even an unscented one. A & D is best or go back to the shop and grab the Ink Fixx as it is specifically for tattoos and won't leech the ink from your skin. It's just cracking b/c you are not keeping it moist. It will scab over and heal in about a week. If it gets really red or starts oozing, that's sign of infection, so keep an eye on it. It should heal fine as long as you keep it moist and don't pick at the scab

Yes it happens. I actually took off a lot of the color of one of my tattoo's, after i accidentally scratched it with my finger nail. Just keep a lot of lotion on it. And possibly after it heals go get it filled in if the color creases is something you are worried about.
