it is POSSIBLE with the RIGHT artist. that being said, i would laser it off first and then cover it so you wont be limited in your design options.

I’d like to see what options I have without laser removal. I’d honestly rather keep it than laser it. I made a hasty decision on it, learned my lesson, and I’m definitely going to give the cover up a lot more thought. I’m just trying to see what ideas everyone out there has

a good cover artist could cover this with a multitude of designs,
just go see one and explore your possibilities

For sure. I was actually considering a type of guardian angel kneeling with a sword and some stuff going on in the background such as clouds, etc. Whatever’s necessary to complete the cover up

you’re going to need a full color, probably darker tattoo with a lot of detail… if you’re thinking koi you’re thinking in the right direction, the scales of a fish would cover it nicely. check out Adal’s work at http://majestictattoonyc.com/tattoo-cover-ups/ for some ideas.

Then when you’re done, you can go to Brogan to cover up this garbage.

I contacted Larry, and he said that I would either need to laser it first to lighten it or to keep it as is. As I don’t want to laser it, looks like I’ll be moving on to thinking up what tat I want next. Thanks everyone!

I’ll never understand why people are so hell bent on not having a laser session or two before getting a coverup

I think I’m just gonna let it do its fading which will take a while, especially where it is, and get it covered up later in life

Meh, this guy is OK at best. Go somewhere else if you want something that is great.
