Hello – newbie here and firstly I hope I’m doing this right.

Recently got my 2nd tat (5 weeks ago) with a minor touch up 2 weeks ago. Was all going well until about a week ago/week after my 20 min touch up when I noticed in parts it is raised, cracked and shiny. Not convinced it’s part of the healing process hence why I am posting here.

Went back to the tattooist and he advised to just to wash 3-4 times a day with non scented soap and pat down. I have done this and the raised skin has went down but not completely and it itches like hell/ feels warm. It is also very cracked and shiny like snakeskin in parts – espically around a few of the edges.

I am am totally pc useless and not sure how to post photo,s  so I am asking advice without you guys getting a look which I appreciate is difficult. Does it sound like my tattooist went in too deep. He is highly regarded and works in one of the more reputable shops in Scotland.

    Finally ha ha….

Been using a topical steriod cream which has helped and the scarring has flattened and less itchy.

Does this look like scarring or possibly an allergic reaction to something I possibly have used in aftercare? Any suggestions to help this? Aloe Vera sap etc….

    cheers

    Paul
